Chinese New Year...and Daddy!

We, or rather, Terry surprised Elle-Catherine by going to her Chinese New Year party at school. She had asked him several times to come, but since he's a hard working Daddy, she knew he probably wouldn't get to. However, God gave them both a blessing by clearing up his day, so Terry could go. She had so much fun and was excited to see us. Our girl has become a little bit shy; so, she was waving on the outside but jumping up and down on the inside! She was also excited to be chosen to carry one of the umbrellas in the parade!

Pressing on toward my goal...

One of my goals for this year is this, I want to have ALL our digital pictures cropped, cataloged and saved on discs by the end of this year. This is a huge endeavor, way bigger than I thought when I first came up with the idea. Now, I'm not the type that does one thing until it's finished then starts something else, no I'm more of a jump-arounder. Meaning, I was working on the pictures from our second trip to Disney, but got tired of that and started on Avery's birth. Here are some of my favorites. I got a little bit sad when I saw how much Avery had changed, well, really all of them.

I Can't Believe I'm Saying This...

I'm normally not the girl who longs for summer. I don't really enjoy the out-of-doors. I don't plant flowers or anything like that...BUT...I am sooo ready for spring and summer. I can't believe I'm saying this...but I'm tired of winter. I am thankful that God has given us all this rain, snow to replenish our water supply. However, I really want it to be warm again. So, to make myself feel better I found a background to cheer me up!Check Spelling

My Pics...

I'm learning I really, really like to take pictures. I mean I'm just a novice but it's a great hobby. I've been asked to take our directory pictures for church (no pressure right!!) but it's really going great. Here is one I took of our cross carved into the floor of our lobby. I really liked it.

Prayer

As we are learning on Sunday nights, there isn't any such thing as unanswered prayer. God can use a no, or yes or even a not right now to answer our prayers. And even though I know and believe the verse that promises..."all things work to the good of those who love Him..." it still hurts to get a no.

Can I handle it? This is the question...

Yesterday at Jackson's ballgame, I couldn't believe my eyes. This little boy pushes my baby down on the ground and then...HE LAUGHS at Jackson. I mean, I'm not one of those Mommy's who think their kids won't get hurt, so it wasn't the fact that Jackson hit the floor that bothered me BUT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LAUGH AT HIM. I can only thank God that His Spirit lives in me or I would have been up in that kid's face with the MOMMY VOICE before either of us knew it. So, here's my question...can I handle all this? It might be hard but I will...I love the look on Jackson's face when he finally understands how to shoot the basket or when he realizes he can now dribble all the way down the court...but really laughing is just on the edge of too much.

Valentine's Day...and growing up!

Well, today was Valentine's Day and sort of a sad day for me. Not because I didn't get a great present, I did. Not because I didn't get a really sweet card, I did. Today was a sad day because my daughter is growing up. I mean this isn't a surprise to me; this year she will celebrate her 9th birthday. All of a sudden she decided she needed a hairdryer...a hairdryer. This makes me so sad; she has never been one to really care about that sort of thing but now she wanted a hairdryer. I almost cried as I was thinking about it. But, WOW, that smile when she opened up that gift was priceless. So what, if I was crying on the inside.

Our New Family Tradition...

I LOVE Birthdays...I mean it's one day that gets to be all about YOU! To me they are special and I try real hard to make them special for our children. So, here is the new McCormick family birthday tradition. What is it? Well I strung all the birthday cards (well, most of them) that we have gotten over the years into garland, tied two bows, added a sign and...Voila! new tradition. If it's your birthday month, you get the banner hung in your honor! I hope my children will look back on this and say "I had the coolest Mom!"

Our Wake-Up Call...

Monday morning, I'm still in bed and hear the phone ring...after Terry answers he is quiet. I immediately think "No, School!" I was right. Another snow day...we had a great day. One of those lets eat waffles for lunch kind of days!

Potty Training...uuuggghhh!!

Oh how I hate those nasty, nasty little words. I mean they are my least favorite words in parenting (so far). Many ask me "Won't you like not having to buy diapers anymore?" my answer..."Sure, but not enough so that I want to potty train!" It doesn't help that my little guy doesn't want to do it either. It would be better if he were the slightest bit more interested...I think he doesn't mind the diapers either. So, when am I starting? The same answer as always...tomorrow!

I Would Love to Meet this Young Woman!

I read this and was totally amazed at this young woman and her love and faithfulness to God. I've never been one to want to go on short-term missions BUT I would love to meet and work with this girl! read and enjoy! I couldn't figure out how to cut-and-paste it so I just did a link!

Terry left me his laptop!!

So, today I can blog a bit and get in my computer fix...I had absolutely no idea how much I loved my laptop until it went cappoot! Hopefully it will be back in my loving arms by next week fixed and ready to go...if not then at least I hope my info can be retrieved!!
