Girl Days and Cupcakes...

Well I'm glad to say that Judy Moody was a good movie...much better than I was expecting! And most of all Elle-Catherine had so much fun! The added plus for her dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and a red velvet cupcake!

AAHHH....The Smells of Summer...

Is there anything better than the smell of sunscreen and chlorine?

We are having a blast taking advantage of my Mom's pool. We have been almost everyday since she opened it on Memoral Day. The kids are having fun playing in it and I'm enjoying watching them grow in their love of the water. Avery who hated the pool last year is becoming a duck. Jackson has always loved the water (the only thing he inherited from me!), and even Elle-Catherine seems to be loving it too! Never have I said these words..."Yay for Summer!!"

And Yay for Marmie's Pool!

What I Want vs. What I Have...and What Makes it Better...

I love Terry, I mean I really, really, love him...good thing right! If I tried to list all the reasons why I loved him you guys would be bored! So, I'll just list the reasons that have to do with this blog post...I love him because he really doesn't care how "girly" I am. He doesn't care how many purses I buy, or how many shoes I own, or how much jewelry I collect. Really doesn't care...BUT...and it's a pretty big BUT to me! He absolutely refuses to be OK with my wearing fake finger nails. And since he's so good about every other thing I feel bad about making a big fuss about this one little issue. So, I suffer in silence. While I dream about beautiful long perfect french manicured nails, the reality is far from that. However, I have found something that makes my suffering much easier. So, I thought I'd share it with all the other girly girls out there!

Yep, Sally Hansen, been around forever, but works like nothing I've ever seen before. I'm on day 4 and not a chip in sight. So, if you want a salon like manicure without going to the salon pick up a bottle of this for about $4.65...and Sarah, it really does dry in 10 seconds!!

Momma, Elle-Cahterine and Judy Moody!

It's a Girls Day Out! Where are we going...to see "Judy Moody and the Not So Bummer Summer" (isn't that a mouth full!) From the moment that Elle-Catherine saw this preview she HAD to see this movie. She declared that "No Boys" were allowed! So, it's off to the 2:35 showing we go!

Knee Deep in the Water Somewhere...

This is what I want...what I'm sitting in my chair dreaming of right now. I want to plant myself in a beach-chair put my toes in the sand and watch the waves all day. I want to hear my children laugh as they play in the surf. I'm very excited....to be knee deep in the gulf. For me this is the ultimate picture of rest and relaxation. Hopfully this dream of sand and sun will come true...
anyone else out there dreaming of the same thing??

Passing on the Love...

Recently Terry took on the task of helping coach Jackson's 7 & 8 Year old baseball team. It was an interesting experience but I believe it accomplished his goal. He told me a story of a former coach he had in little league. This coach didn't have the most wins; in fact they lost quiet a bit. Yet, what this coach was most successful at was making baseball fun and that in turn resulted in a great love of the game in Terry that is still there today. Terry coached Jackson's team in the hope that he could pass on his love of this game to other young boys! Sad to say but this isn't the focus of many kid's baseball coaches today; it's all about the win. However, as I watched from the sidelines I think he was successful. I know for sure he was successful with his sons because they went from sort of wanting to play to absolutely loving it!!

And She Played...

One the greatest joys of motherhood for me to date happened recently. My baby girls piano recital. She was so excited, and although she said she was nervous I couldn't tell it. As I sat there and listened to her play the "Mexican Hand Clapping Song" without one mistake, my heart swelled. This was her moment, and she shined!

This is our sweet and wonderfully talented piano teacher, Miss Melissa...
